If, for some reason best known to yourself, you cannot participate in the rally action as a contestant, don't lose heart! You can still be an integral part of this epic annual battle between man, machine and nature by volunteering to be a Marshal. All you have to do is fill in this form and mail it back to us at

Apart from total and absolute commitment – on most days, you’ll get to bed at 11 pm and rise and shine at 3 am – you’ll need the following to officiate as a Marshal in the Raid De Himalaya:


  • Vehicle: 4x4 preferably or SUV
  • GPS: Tracks loaded/Android phone with Orux Maps
  • Laptop with map source
  • First Aid kit
  • Sleeping bag
  • Snow chains
  • Tow straps

Skill Sets

You should be:

  • GPS friendly; you need to load on tracks
  • Trained in VHF Radio operations
  • Trained in First Aid and Adult CPR
  • Trained in evacuation of patient from a crash
  • Skilled in Search and Rescue operations
  • Have at least 5 years’ experience in motorsport allied activities as marshal or competitor, etc.
